Hello everyone,
Hope everyone is well and that the exams (for all those doing GCSEs and Alevels) went well!
Last night, the biggest music awards of Greece took place in Athens!!! The MAD Video Music Awards sponsored by Vodafone took place in Faliro. Everyone and anyone was there to join in the massive party! Some of the guests I spotted while watching the show last night included Natasa Theodoridou and her 2 children, Elena Paparizou with her man, Panos Kiamos, Sakis Rouvas and many many many more. Just like every year, there were amazing performances from Sakis Rouvas, Despina Vandi, Stavento feat Zeta Makripoulia and Mihalis Hatzigiannis closed the show with his new song ’To Kalokairi Mou’.

We were fortunate to be seated on the first table by the stage (proto trapezi pista!) and so we were up close and personal with Peggy Zina and Dimitris Mitropanos throughout the whole show! As we were a small family group of 5 people, we were seated with another small party. It took me 20 whole minutes to notice that I had been sitting next to (the very handsome) Kostas Karafotis! He too had come to enjoy Peggy Zina’s show with his wife and a small group of friends. Once Peggy had noticed him sitting in the audience she too got excited and dedicated a few songs to him, as well as passing the microphone over to him to sing us a few songs.
The show was split into 3 main parts: old elafrolaika with popular and classic zeimbekika, lively chiftetelia to lift everyone’s spirits, and modern pop/club songs mostly from Peggy Zina’s latest albums. Dimitris Mitropanos and Peggy Zina took it in turns to appear on stage until their warm up acts came back on to sing a few more songs, ending in the band from the Greek X-factor, Trimitonio singing their new songs with Peggy Zina.
The club was fully booked that night as there was a not a single empty table! Everyone was having an amazing time – including the guests of PASOK political party who had also booked tables to enjoy the show that night.
Of course the night would not be complete if I had not gone to visit the lovely lady backstage. And so, when the show finished at 4.30am (an early finish due to the taxi strike that was planned for that very day), I stood patiently outside her dressing room while she had a quick costume change into something a little more comfortable. Before I could introduce myself to her and explain that I had come from London Greek Radio, she had recognised me from the interview we did a few months back and had got up from her seat to give me lots of kisses and cuddles, making me promise to pass them on to all at LGR and to all her fans in London. We sat and talked about the shows at Iera Odos, what it’s like working with Mitropano, her performance in Cyprus at Monte Cabouto on Valentines Day, and her plans for coming over to London.
Peggy Zina sends all her love to everyone in London, especially to all her fans for supporting her for so many years and wishes you all a happy and safe Easter. She told me she is planning on coming to London soon for some shopping and also hopes to pass by the studios for an interview and to meet some of her fans face-to-face.
I’d just like to say a big thank you to Peggy Zina and Dimitris Mitropanos for a fantastic show and I wish them the best of luck for the performances in Thessaloniki. Make sure you catch the performances at the Odeon. Also a very big thank you to Giorgos Liras, husband and manager of Peggy Zina, for the lovely table and for all his cooperation with LGR.
Hello eveyone,
Sorry for not updating my blog in a long time… Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and that this new year is off to a brilliant start.
And on with the gossip…
…Giorgos Theofanous has recently pitched a new idea for a talent show for children aged 3 - 18. The idea was pitched to the leading greek channel ANT1. They have accepted the idea for the new television programme and have chosen Kalomoira to present it - and she has accepted their offer!…
…Peggy Zina has just purchased a late Christmas present for herself! The singer has bought herself a Porsche Cayman worth 90,000 euros, but sources say she still uses her small Jeep for shopping purposes. She has also been treated to a surprise new holiday home by her husband. This new home is in the small village of Arahova, is which known for its cold and snowy winters. Peggy Zina has also told her facebook fans that she will be performing with Dimitris Mitropanos in Thessaloniki in April for an exclusive 16 performances…

…Tamta and Sakis Rouvas have recently started their performances in Athens at the ‘S Club’. It is said to be an amazing show full of entertainment and hardcore partying! There is also said to be a performance of few English, as well as Greek, R’n'B songs by Sakis Rouvas. He has revealed in an interview that he would like to release a few songs of that genre as well…

…Yiannis Ploutarhos has been spotted visiting Nikos Kourkoullis at ‘Teatro’ in Athens in the first week of the new year. It is very rare for Yiannis Ploutarhos to be seen enjoying a night out at his colleague’s performances, especially with his wife Maria! The two singers enjoyed a song or two together before Yiannis Ploutarhos had said that he had come to enjoy Nikos Kourkoullis, Kostas Martakis & Aggeliki Iliadi, and not himself….

…Last Tuesday, Thanos Petrelis left his record company, Heaven, to join his best man and song writer, Phoebus . Last year, Phoebus had left all record companies that he was associated with to set up his own record company as well as carrying on his songwriting. Thanos Petrelis is not the only one to join allegiance with Phoebus. Others include Despina Vandi and Elli Kokkinou…
…Elli Kokkinou is back after taking a very long break to enjoy some time with her baby son, Alexandro. This is the first album that will circulate as a member of Phoebus own record company after leaving Sony BMG. The new album is said to have songs of a more rock and elafrolaiko genre….
Don’t forget you can still listen to the exclusive interview with Peggy Zina on the LGR website. If you missed the exclusive chat I had with her, then check out the audio uploads.
I will be on air on Tuesday 26th January on Young & Connected 8-10pm!

Hi everyone,
Firstly a big thank you to everyone who donated to the Radiomarathon hosted by LGR and Marfin Laiki Bank these past few days. We managed to raise over £18,000 for such a wonderful charity. Don’t forget you can still give donations to the Radiomarathon throughout the year by visiting one of the Laiki Branches.
Since I’m going to be on holiday the next few days, I thought I’d bring you the gossip early….
…Sakis Rouvas and his wife Katia Zigouli have christened their little girl, Anastasia. They christened their little girl on Sunday 18th October at 1pm. Only 55 guests were invited including the godmother, Emmanuella Pavlidou, a good friend of the couples’. Sakis Rouvas chose to wear a Dolce & Gabbana suit while his wife, Katia, chose a Donna Karen dress….

…Despina Vandi has released her new posters and promotional material for this coming seasons performances at Sugar, in Athens, with Goin’ Through and Hristos Menidiatis. The premiere is planned for the 23rd October. Also, Despina Vandi’s 6-year-old song ‘Yeia’ was heared on the catwalk during the showing of the Christian Dior collection, in Paris last week…

…We all know Peggy Zina is a bit of a party animal and is always being snapped at various bouzoukia in Athens supporting her fellow friends. Well, she’s been snapped again with husband and manager, Giorgos Liras, enjoying a drink or two at the premiere of Lefteris Pantazis and Alekos Zazopoulos at the ‘Can Can’ in Athens. Looking radiant and full of energy she even got on stage to sing a few songs with Lefteris Pantazis…

Enjoy the rest of the week and hope to see everyone at the Radiomarathon Show Agapi at Club Palace on Wednesday 21st October.

Hey Guys,
Hope everyone is ok and that we’re all looking forward to Christmas! I know it’s a long time away, but is it just me or do all the shops bring the Christmas decorations out earlier and earlier each year???
Hope you all enjoyed the Yiannis Ploutarhos concert and that many of you took the opportunity to meet him right here at LGR House. I was lucky enough to sit in on the interview and I must say that he was really lovely…
And on with the gossip…
…Anna Vissi’s good friend and manager, Greg Ladanyi, died suddenly and unexpectedly on the 28th September. Anna is said to be distraught and still in denial. She has agreed not to cancel her upcoming concert in Los Angeles which she has chosen to personally dedicate to her much loved manager and friend….
…On a brighter note, the singer Hrispa has announced, officially, to the media that she will be getting married to her long term boyfriend, Panayioti, some time next year…
…Evridiki and Dimitris Korgiallas have finally got married! After being together for over 5 years, the pair tied the knot in Glyfada last week. There were only 2 or 3 guests including the best man and the bridesmaid as witnesses. This is Evridiki’s 2nd marriage, after marriying and having a son with X-Factor judge and manager to the stars, Giorgos Theofanous….
…Nikos Kourkoullis was recently invited to appear on the morning break show of Eleni Menegaki (the queen of breakfast television!). He discussed his recent experiences of fatherhood (and being a husband!) and his beautiful little baby boy with Kelly Kelekidou. Eleni and Niko discussed who the little boy resembled the most, both finally agreeing that he looked like his father the most…

…Angela Dimitriou has recently been offered a position to present the political news. She has yet to accept or deny the offer…
…Thanos Petrelis and his wife Sophia have been spotted partying at the bouzoukia in Athens. They went along last week to cheer on their good friends Nikos Kourkoullis, Aggeliki Iliadi and Kostas Martakis at Teatro….

…Despina Vandi and her husband, Ntemi Nikolaidi, have been headline news in Athens these past few weeks. The media released a story saying that before the beginning of Despina Vandi’s concert her husband, who was standing front row, was approached by a mysterious blonde lady. Apparently this women was a fan of Ntemi’s and started to talk to him. She suddenly - as the media says - reached out and kissed him on the lips just as Despina Vandi was getting ready to come on stage. A large arguement was said to have taken place backstage between Despina and her husband, however they were seen at an after party holding hands and cracking open champagne bottles…
…And lastly but definately not least, Tamta has finally finished her new album! Tamta’s last album ‘Agapise Me’ was released in 2007 and since then she has been busy at the bouzoukia in Athens and Thessaloniki. Of course, LGR will have the album in a few months and we will be airing it on the airwaves before you know it! I’ve been lucky enough to meet Tamta and I have to say she is one of the loveliest people I have ever met… (and it has nothing to do with her sharing the same birthday as me!)…
Don’t forget LGR will be hosting the Radiomarathon on Monday and Tuesday with help from Laiki Bank, so make sure you tune in as there are plenty of suprises in store. Also don’t forget to call in with your generous donations for such a fantastic charity!
Take care,
Andrea Yerolemou x

Thankfully he had recovered from the shock and was full of energy for his son’s christening…

Don’t forget Natasa Theodoridou’s show coming up this Saturday! A very big good luck to Laiki Bank and the Radiomarathon for Saturday and here’s hoping they can raise lots of money for children with special needs.
Take care, Andrea Yerolemou x
Hello everyone,
…The biggest scandal in Greece concerning the music business happend last week!! Sony Universal Music had it’s system hacked by ‘Hackers 4 Fame’. Personal details including home addresses, personal email addresses, photographs, home telephone numbers and mobile numbers of Greek celebrities have been leaked and posted on the internet through Rapidshare. Some of the celebrities involved include Despina Vandi, Elena Paparizou, Kaiti Garbi, Antonis Remos, Elenora Zouganeli, Giorgos Tsalikis, Nikos Vertis, Marianta Pieridi and Tamta. It has been said by the hackers that it is Episode I - only time will tell what the second installement will include!…

That’s it for now…

Hi guys, Sorry I haven’t updated my blog in ages but I’ve had loads of work from college…
…Giogos Tsalikis has recently started his shows in Thessaloniki. The shows started off with a bang as the opening night was a huge success. The audience that night included Peggy Zina, her husband Giorgos Liras and Thanos Petrelis. Peggy Zina and Giorgos Liras had escaped their busy lifestyles in Athens and decided to come to the show with a few close friends. Giorgos Tsalikis was so pleased to see his good friends, Peggy Zina and Thanos Petrelis, in the audience that he invited them to sing on stage with him….

…As we all know Maro Litra has recently split with her long-term boyfriend, TNS. But thats not the only thing she’s taken that one step back from! She also split from her record company ‘Heaven’. It is still unsure as to why she parted from them - whether it was her decision or the company’s. Recent rumours also say that Maro Litra may be going out with Kostas Karafotis…
… Sakis Rouvas has signed the contracts to present, for another year, the Greek X-factor shows. If you’ve been in Cyprus or Greece this year you will know that auditions are already underway and the live shows are planned to be on our screens (if you’ve got Greek satelite that is!) by next month…
…Despina Vandi has expressed that she would like to have a third child with husband Ntemis Nikolaides. She already has two children, Melina and Giorgos. Despina has just finished her ‘Long Hot Summer Tour’ around Cyprus & Greece. The 27 concerts sold an accumulative 140,000 tickets which meant 16 flights, 520 plane tickets and 7,500 kilometres worth of road driven by her limo bus to ferry Despina, her family and all her crew…
…Aggeliki Iliadi who recently split up with her partner, Mbamby Lazardi, has said “that with God’s help, her life will continue…” She did admit that she can’t stop thinking about it, but said that it was time she focused, once again, on her career…
That’s it for now… Andrea Yerolemou xxx
