Cypriot actress shines on screen
Actress Lucy Christofi Christy has just finished shooting a short film 'AN UNSUITABLE BOY' directed by the Greek Cypriot Writer/Director Lou Panteli.
The 17 strong mainly Greek/Cypriot cast includes herself - Lucy Christy and George Savvides, Anna Savva, Nina Millns, Panayiotis Psarias, Michael Michael, Androniki Psarias, Elle Panteli, Tony Neophytou, Alex and Sophia Roy, Rob Wainwright, Alex Huish, Juliette Strange, Theo and Nicholas Psarias and Michael Armstrong!
She recently played the lead in Vicki Psarias' award winning film 'Broken' which will soon be screened on Cypriot channel RIK and will be opening this year's LA Harbour Film Festival.
Lucy also starred as the boss in the pop video 'Monday Freaking Monday' by Eric Averkiou, which was screened at the Cypriot Film Festival.
She played the role of Elenou in the Greek feature film 'Akamas', which was screened at the Venice Film Festival, won an award at the Los Angeles Film Festival and is still doing the international festive rounds.
Lucy will soon be seen in two short films - 'Sea Urchins' by Greek Cypriot writer/director Lou Panteli, which also features actor Panos Savvides, and as the nanny in 'The Gift' by Iranian Director Shler Murdochy.
She will also be playing the lead in a play in Cyprus this May 2008.
Lucy is to start rehearsals with Theatro Ena's Director, Andreas Christodoulidies in Alpha Square's production of Neil Labute's Bash, Latterday Plays. She will be performing the one woman play MEDEA REDUX alongside Andreas Araouzos who will perform IPHIGENIA IN OREM.
This will tour Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos this May 2008 [please see website for dates] and is hoping to repeat the performances in London www.alphasquare.org
