Giorgos Tsalikis, Thanos Petrelis, Nikos
Catch a glimpse of Thanos Petrelis, Nikos Oikonomopoulos and Giorgos Tsalikis who are whipping the fans into absolute frenzy at the Thea in Athens.
The stunning trio are thrilling audiences to a veritable feat of their massive hits.
The premiere of the opening fixture had kicked off on August 22 and the party-revellers kept the excitement going until 6am!
The performances are to run until the end of October.
"We've become companions. We are three friends who do their job as best as they can to ensure the people have a good time." (Thanos)
Ksypna Athina!
Thanos Perelis, the self-confessed pumping-iron gym enthusiast, is on excellent form, and is clearly reinvigorated from his summer break and 'Ksypna Thanasi' going platinum. The massive summer hit is a former number on the official LGR TOP 20.
The explicit lyrics have caused a bit of a stir but that won't disguise the very good hip-hop vocal abilities of Thanos. The words a perceived criticism on the 'selfishness of the capitalist society and the women who chase the senior gentleman for his wallet'. Simply going to the gym isn't good enogh to attract the ladies!
Fivos had proven worthy of his accolade as the excellent hit-maker. Thanos is to renew his working relationship with the composer for his brand new album to be released in October.
Elsewhere, Nikos Oikonomopoulos will sing tunes from his debut album 'Proti Agapi' with guaranteed favourites 'Matia Mou', 'Kita na Mathenis' and 'Ola Gia Sena'.
Giorgos Tsalikis will also flame the fervent passion with stirring performances of his latest offerings, 'Ke Lei Lei' and 'Kalitera Paidopedo.'
The bombardment of flowers by the hard-core fan is fully in sink with the Greek bouzoukia "institution" and the public gesture of gratitude that is preserved for their idol. How much does the flowers industry rake in profit in Greece?
The variety of the music was good. The laika, both old and modern are in the ascendancy, plus a sprinkling of rock and Greek-passionate ballads.
The club's manager Mr Papageorgiou is curiously also the producer to Nikos Oikonomopoulos. Each act is to have a 40 minute stint.
"I don't perceive one artist to be more essential than the other, all of us input equally into the project".
The climax is a full-throttle three way attack with the singers on stage for a whole hour.
Off to Athens?
A friend of mine from London had mooted the suggestion 'why pay to catch an artist in the UK' where the eye-shot is likely to be poor but instead make the investment in a short-distance trip to Athens, where you can physically touch the performer. A valid point perhaps. The 'all-nighter factor' in Athens could be another motivation to book the flight.
