Konstantinos Papas is at No. 1
Kalomoira holds the key to success

Limassol artist Konstantinos Papas had joined forces with Sofia Arvaniti performing the feel-good tune 'Mpora' which has gone to number one.
Konstantinos had released his debut album in 2007, which featured fresh hits with 'Thelo Ke Boro', 'Ponto Ponto' as well as a cover version to 'An 1 Mera Se Hasa'. In the anticipation of his follow-up album, the promo single 'Mpora', is currently circulating on the air-waves of LGR!
Alkistis Protopsalti had moved two places to No. 2 with the dance/reggae mix of 'Pame Havai', the summer anthem has stroke a resonance with the listener who is eagerly awaiting to plan their summer trip... Meanwhile, 'all aboard on the London Greek Radio airwaves... Destination... Havai!' The hit song is featured on the album 'Sto Oreotero Simio'.
Kalomoira had surrended her domnination of the No. 1 slot on the definitive Chart, after a reign of four weeks at the top - dropping two places to No. 3.
The infectiously catchy R'n'B ethno song 'Secret Combination' which is being widely tipped to do exceptionally well for Greece, has cracked the code in winning the confidence of the listener.
The choreographed slick fine dancing capabilities of Kalomoira and four male dancers - will definitely illicit the attention of the voter.
"We're going to present to Europe a 3 minute show with dances and very special choreography. My new choreographer, Juliano, is very inventive and original and I'm sure that the viewers will not forget very easy during the night our act". (Kalomoira)
Greece will perform at the Eurovision Semi-Final on May 20, with the aim to qualify for the final latter stages on May 24, in Belgrade, Serbia.
The highest new entry is Kelli Kelekidou 'Se Vgazo Akiro' going straight to No. 4 with the positively up-beat tsifteteli.
Sarbel 'Eho Trelathi' (No. 5) is the hot new tune that will feature on the eagerly anticipated album, which is set for release in the Spring. The pop song fuses a mixture of the Oriental/Greek rhythms with a ladden rock vibe. The brand new album is to be a follow-up to 'Yassou Maria' which culminated in a respectable seventh in the Helsinki Eurovision Final of last year.
Eleftheria Arvanitaki 'Min Orkiseze' has dropped a single place to sixth with the classy, melodic pop ballad which is the Greek equivalent to the Italian hit song 'Come Monna Lisa'.
Nikos Oikonomopoulos has a new entry with 'Ola Gia Sena' the quite pleasantly-strong melodic song, from his debut album 'Proti Agapi'. Nikos is at number eight.
Cypriot pop sensation Michalis Hatzgiannis has gone into the top 10 at No. 9, with the funky remix to 'Heria Spila'. Meanwhile, the charismatic star, is busy preparing himself for a tour of the US.
A record-breaking Panos Psaltis will be delighted that his poignant ballad 'Aggele Mou', has endured a reign of 24 weeks on the definitive Chart. The former number one is at No. 13 moving up a whole five places.
Cypriot Eurovision contestant Evdokia Kadi 'Femme Fatale' has gained a further one place to No. 19, with the song that will represent in the Semi-Final Two of the Eurovision, which is planned on May 22 in Belgrade, Serbia.
Evdokia, who hails from Nicosia, was triumphant in the local heat stages, in January of this year.
'Femme Fatale' is a distinctive fusion of the zeimbekiko and rumba, with a quite pleasant rhythmical beat, that is sung entirely in Greek with the exception of the title in French.
How will it measure in Eurovision? Visually, it is a quite impressive feat, with the eye-catching performance which is reminiscent of a taverna scene at a Limassol sea-side front.
The weakness of the Cypriot entry is the tad too messy structure in music terms, it plays itself out at varied levels, with a touch of the zeimbekiko to a rumba, without ever deciding which genre it is. The punchy chorus or the missing absence of it could also prove disadvantageous.
Having said that, if the rather attractive Evdokia delivers a convincing performance it could yet pass into the Eurovision final. The team who are spearheading the initiative have raised expectations of a striking stage act, throwing in a surprise for the unsuspecting viewer! Is a plate-smashing routine going to be attempted?
Cyprus was drawn seventeenth in the running order for the second tier of the Eurovision Semi-Final on Thursday May 22, 8pm GMT, in Belgrade, Serbia.
How the chart is determined?
The determinant factors are (i) listener song requests, (ii) big new hits which emanate in Greece and Cyprus (iii) DJ/producer choices, (iv) LGR on-line polling data.
