Mpora is at No.1 for Limassol act

Alkistis Protopsalti prepares for Havai

Limassol artist Konstantinos Papas and Sofia Arvaniti performing the feel-good stomper 'Mpora' has retained the No.1 spot for a second consecutive week.

Konstantinos had released his debut album in 2007, which featured hit tunes such as 'Thelo Ke Boro', 'Ponto Ponto' and 'An 1 Mera Se Hasa'. The promo single of 'Mpora' is a first teezer from his follow-up album, to be released later in the year.

Alkistis Protopsalti is a non mover at number two with her dance/reggae mix to 'Pame Havai', the anthem has stroke a resonance with the listener who is eagerly awaiting to plan their summer trip, 'all aboard on the London Greek Radio airwaves... Destination... Havai!'

Meanwhile, third position has been secured by Kelli Kelekidou 'Se Vgazo Akiro' up one spot with the positively up-beat tsifteteli number.

Kalomoira has dropped a single place to No.4 with the hit Eurovision entry 'Secret Combination', producing proof of the instant catchiness of this addictive Euro beat, the former number one was at the top of the Chart for four weeks!

The infectious R'n'B ethno formulae which is being widely tipped to do exceptionally well for Greece, has cracked the code in winning the confidence of the listener.

The choreographed slick fine dancing capabilities of Kalomoira and the four male dancers - will definitely illicit the attention of the voter.

"We're going to present to Europe a 3 minute show with dances and very special choreography. My new choreographer, Juliano, is very inventive and original and I'm sure that the viewers will not forget very easy during the night our act" (Kalomoira)

Greece will perform at the Eurovision Semi-Final on May 20, with the aim to qualify for the final latter stages on May 24, in Belgrade, Serbia.

Eleftheria Arvanitaki 'Min Orkiseze' has gained a further one spot to fifth with the classy, melodic pop ballad which is the Greek equivalent to the Italian hit 'Come Monna Lisa'.

Sarbel 'Eho Trelathi' (No. 6) is the hot new tune that will feature on the hotly anticipated album, which is set to be released in the Spring. The pop song which fuses a mixture of the Oriental/Greek rhythms with some latent rock. The brand new album is to be a follow-up to 'Yassou Maria' which culminated in a respectable seventh in the Helsinki Eurovision Final of last year.

The highest new entry is Stavento, the Greek hip-hop outfit who have stirred the air-waves with their rhythmical number 'Kalos Sas Vrika'. Stavento have gone straight to number seven.

Giorgos Sampanis with the beautiful ballad 'Haramata' has netted a further six places to enter into the definitive top 10 at number nine.

New entry for Michalis Hatzigiannis 'Pies' at No. 12 from the triple platinum album 'Filoi Ke Exthroi'. The Cypriot pop sensation has a further entrant with the massive hit song 'Heria Spila - Moscow Remix' at number eighteen.

Kostas Martakis 'Panta Tha Girizo Eki' which is composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos is a fresh entry at No. 19 - with the Greek equivalent version to 'Always and Forever' which came second in the local heat stages for the Eurovision accolade.

Thanos Pentrelis has a re-entry with the stomping party anthem 'Aman Ke Eos' culminating in a solid fourteenth position. The other re-entry is for Nikos Vertis 'Den Ma'agapas' which is derived from the platinum album 'Mono Gia Sena'.

Newcomer artist Vera Boufi with the rhythmical pop tune 'Portreto' has entered the Chart at No. 20. The young singer is aiming to follow in the footsteps of the phenominally successful recording artist, who is Anna Vissi.

How the chart is compiled?
The determinant factors are (i) listener song requests, (ii) big new hits which emanate in Greece and Cyprus (iii) DJ/producer choices, (iv) LGR on-line polling data.
