Darko Kovacevic and Brazilian striker Diego scored as Olympiakos beat visiting AEK 2-0 to reclaim the top spot in the Greek league Sunday.
Olympiakos now has 13 points, two more than PAOK which played to a scoreless draw at Ergotelis on Saturday.
Earlier Sunday, Panathinaikos beat visiting Levadiakos 2-0 on goals from Ante Rukavina and Dimitris Salpingidis to put the Athens club in fifth place with nine points from four games and one match in hand.
Olympiakos charged forward from the start, coming close to scoring in the 24th minute when a thumping header by Vassilis Torossidis forced Sebastian Saja to jump high and send the ball over the bar.
In the 36th, it was AEK's turn to miss a chance when Rafik Djebbour dribbled past two defenders and sent a shot wide from the six-yard area.
Kovacevic had only been on the pitch for two minutes after substituting for Fernando Belluschi in the 60th when he took a pass from Predrag Djordjevic and scored. Diogo sealed the victory with his third goal of the season in the 65th.
AEK played with 10 players the last 13 minutes after Juanfran received a second yellow card for rough play.
Also Sunday, it was: Asteras 0, Xanthi 0; Thrasivoulos 0, Panserraikos 1; and Panthrakikos 1, Panionios 0.
